What is Business NBN
The NBN broadband network is an upgrade to existing telecommunications infrastructure through a range of new technologies, including fixed line. NBN will offer wholesale solutions that are designed to help service providers meet the varying requirements of businesses. These services offer a range of connectivity options. When the NBN broadband access network reaches your business, your landline phone and internet services will need to be switched over.
Business ICT Partners specialise in providing NBN migration solutions that will help SMEs deploy a network based on their business objectives.
Is my Business Impacted?
The rollout of the NBN access network impacts most businesses. In some cases, the transition will see technology upgrades that require replacement of existing hardware and interfaces. Affected services will be permanently switched off around 18 months after an area is declared ready for service.
The team at Business ICT Partners will be able to check your area and advise you when your area is ready for service

What business services will be affected during the move to services over the NBN broadband access network?
ISDN is one of the more common legacy products which is required to be replaced. Other copper-based products that have been identified as requiring additional attention during the NBN access network migration (and benefiting from longer migration windows) include:
- Connect IP
- Business IP
- Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
- CustomNet
- Data Access Radial
- Digital Data Services (DDS) Fastway
- Ethernet Lite BDSL
- Frame relay
- Megalink
Can I continue to use ISDN Post Disconnection Date
No. Having ceased taking new ISDN orders from 30 June 2018, Telstra will commence decommissioning ISDN services from 30 September 2019. Aligned with the remaining rollout of the NBN access network, all ISDN services will be decommissioned by 2022.
Will My Current PABX Phone System will work on the NBN
Possibly. Due to the change in physical access, it is likely that you need to update your PABX.
The team at Business ICT Partners can help you determine whether or not your PABX/PBX is compatible with NBN infrastructure.
When will my existing business services be disconnected/switched off?
Affected services will be permanently switched off around 18 months after an area is declared ready for service. To avoid disruption to your business, it’s important you switch your affected landline phone and internet services before they are disconnected.
The team at Business ICT Partners will be able to check your area and advise you when your area is ready for service.
